Abstract

The use of the reading corner allows children to develop language through meaningful learning, where various activities are used to motivate children to read. The research carried out on 102 early and first grade teachers from Zonal 5 -Ecuador, showed that they are not applying various strategies in this learning environment, they only carry out storytelling, when there are several activities that can be done such as: exchange of readers, sponsorships, projects for the elaboration of handmade texts, which will motivate children to be interested in reading and creativity. It is necessary that teachers also plan for the use of the classroom library, making an itinerary where the partial work of each of the activities that they can carry out with their group of students will be evident.
